Why select Anodized Aluminum Cookware?

Aluminum Cookware Sets are the cheapest option for those looking to stock their kitchen with pots, pans and other types of cookware. The cast aluminum pots and pans are appreciated for both their rapid heat conduction and even distribution of heat. There are some issues though that forced aluminum pots and pans manufacturers to do something to reduce their products negatives.
 Aluminum Cookware Set Negatives

They scratch and dent easily.

There are health concerns with the amount of aluminum salts that leech into foods prepared or stored in them.

They react to acidic foods like tomatoes and vinegar based sauces causing a greater amount of aluminum salts to leech into foods.

So what is the answer to all these negatives that make the inexpensive option of aluminum pots and pans an untenable one for a number of people? When the manufacturers for stainless steel cookware realized the faulty heat distribution of their product caused some people to hesitate in purchasing them they added alloys to improve them.

The Cast Aluminum Pots and Pans manufacturers did the same. They added a layer of protection to their products with aluminum oxide in a process called Anodization. The aluminum oxide sealed in the aluminum salts and provided some added benefits as well.

The result is a product known as Anodized Aluminum Cookware. This is still a relatively cheap alternative to stainless steel, copper or cast iron cookware, but as easy to maintain and clean as stainless steel.

Aluminum Oxide (Anodized Aluminum) Benefits

It provided a tougher exterior resistant to scratching and denting.

It provided a non-stick coated surface without the use of Teflon.

It eliminated all reactivity to acidic foods in cooking and storing.

It eliminated leeching of aluminum salts into foods.

With the Anodized Aluminum cookware sets, there is the advantage of the cost savings of aluminum without the negatives of durability, reactivity to acidic foods or the health concerns about consuming aluminum salts in your food when using aluminum pots and pans.
